ITINERARY / PRICES
|You can arrive anytime after 4.00 pm on Sunday 22 November 2015. Our main team of olive pickers will be working every day in the olive groves around your villa and you will be welcome to join in at any time as you wish. Olive picking is dependant on the weather and availability of the factory facilities which can only be decided on at the time - and the following schedule may be subject to change. Many optional activities will also be available at extra cost. The main itinerary is as follows:
Sunday 22 November (welcome!)
Travel Day. Fly to Athens International Airport and change planes for the short 50-minute shuttle flight to Crete, landing at Chania airport in the early evening. (We can advise on appropriate flights.) Then take your hire car (advised) or taxi to our villas or we can arrange pickup at small extra cost. On arrival you can drop your bags at your villa and freshen up. Throughout the evening, there will be a free of charge 'open house' vegetarian hotpot supper party at our own villa nearby where you can relax and meet the others in the group.
Monday 23 November
Acclimatisation day. Sleep late and enjoy your villa and the surroundings. Enjoy breakfast on your balcony. with stunning views of the White Mountains. Olive picking will be taking place every day in the fields around you, and you will be welcome to wander over and see what we are doing, or simply explore the olive groves and surrounding areas on your own.
Tuesday 24 - Friday 27 November
Four flexible days where you can mix and match any Activity Options or help us in the olive groves - entirely your choice. All activities subject to availability and at additional cost, paid locally. No charge for helping to pick olives!
Evenings are free for you to choose to join us at various local restaurants - or simply dine out on your own as you please. Typical evening meal: allow 12-15 euros per head including wine.
Saturday 28 November
10am. Join us at the olive press! See the olives you have picked being made into fresh extra-virgin olive oil. Also your chance to explore, take photos and visit the on-site shop for traditional olive oil soaps, traditional raki, Cretan honey and other lovely products. We will have lunch in the nearby village of Vrysses (10 euro or less)
Afternoon/evening. Return to olive grove for some peace and quiet. In the evening we usually find a local taverna where traditional Cretan music is played live, though this may be on the previous evening depending on who and what is available!
Sunday 29 November
Travel Day - return home via Chania Airport & Athens International Airport
